Start in Beijing, where you’ll feast like a Ming dynasty emperor at a Peking duck banquet, eat street food like a local and explore a stretch of the iconic Great Wall. Take a high-speed bullet train to Xi’an to meet farmers, make hand-pulled noodles and sample Hui specialties in the centuries-old Muslim Quarter. Then, head to Chengdu for spicy Sichuan hot pot and a visit to the Giant Panda Breeding Research Base.
