Intrepid launches new LGBTQIA+ day tours

Intrepid launches new LGBTQIA+ day tours in Seattle and D.C.

June 2025

In celebration of Pride, free for the month of June

Intrepid Urban Adventures, a range of one-day tours to help travelers discover their favorite cities around the world, has launched two new U.S.-based experiences that celebrate Pride by spotlighting LGBTQIA+ history and identity, right in the heart of the communities where that history was made.

The two new tours are being launched in Seattle and Washington D.C. As part of the Pride Month launch, both tours are free to experience for all of June and will then become permanent additions to Urban Adventures’ year-round offerings.

Built in collaboration with local guides, artists and activists, each tour uncovers the people and places that helped shape the LGBTQIA+ movement in the U.S., offering a deeper understanding of how queer history lives in the everyday landscape.

Amanda Neiman, Operations Director for Urban Adventures:

“Creating these tours was deeply personal for all of us. We worked with incredible local voices to build something that feels honest and meaningful. Offering them for free during Pride is our way of making sure more people can experience these stories, because they matter, and they deserve to be heard.”

Leigh Barnes, President of the Americas at Intrepid Travel said of the new tours:

“Travel has the power to break down barriers—and that includes the ones we hold within ourselves. Launching LGBTQIA+ day tours is about more than visibility; it’s about storytelling, solidarity, and showing that everyone deserves to feel seen and safe when they explore the world.”
