Croatia sailing cruises

We use classic monohull yachts for our European sailing adventures (it helps to get into that old-school Euro vibe). As a guide, a typical 50 ft yacht for eight travellers has four twin/double cabins and at least three shared bathrooms with hot showers. You’ll be led by one of our experienced skippers who knows these waters like the back of their hand. 

Life on the boat goes at your own pace. Help on deck as much as you wish or just lie back and enjoy the ride. The choice is entirely up to you. Just keep in mind: cabin arrangements can be quite cosy to leave more room for onboard communal areas. 

Peak season for sailing holidays in and around Croatia is between July and August, when the sun is hottest and many Europeans have summer holidays. But, if you want to beat the crowds while still enjoying that trademark Mediterranean sun, try travelling in spring (mid-April to May) or autumn (September to mid-October) when temperatures are more pleasant and the waters are still calm. 

The extent and severity of seasickness vary from person to person, but many travellers don’t experience any symptoms at all.

Thanks to the belt of islands off mainland Croatia, the Dalmatian Coast is protected from rough seas, and you’ll be sailing on calm waters.

Absolutely. The best thing about our small group sailing adventures is that we cap our group sizes at eight travellers. That means our skippers have more time to get to know you and, if interested, teach you all about sailing. Our skippers have years of experience sailing and relish the opportunity to share their passion with their groups. 

All cabins on our sailing trips are below deck. 

Each sailing vessel typically comes with four twin/double cabins, plus a cabin for the skipper. Your skipper will allocate rooms when you arrive. Passengers travelling in pairs will be accommodated together, while solo travellers will be placed with a fellow passenger of the same gender. This may mean sharing a double mattress or twin mattresses side by side. 

Solo travellers have the option of booking a cabin for themselves for an additional fee. Please ask our team at the time of your booking for more details.  

If you do not identify with the gender assigned on your passport, please let us know at the time of booking so we can adjust your sleeping arrangements. 

Yes, all cabins come equipped with electrical sockets, you just need to bring an adaptor. For Croatia, use a Type C (European 2-pin) or Type F (German 2-pin, side clip earth). 

Wi-fi is not available on our sailing boats, but travellers may be able to access wi-fi while docked at ports and marinas.   

Air conditioning isn't available on our boats, but some boats have fans in the cabins. All boats will have hatches that can be opened for ventilation. During warmer months, travellers can even sleep on deck under the stars. 

You will need to budget for meals (see your Essential Trip Information for more details on meal inclusions), souvenirs and alcoholic drinks. It is also recommended that you contribute to the group kitty at the start of your trip. See your Essential Trip Information for more information about group kitties. 

You and your fellow travellers will have a private sailing yacht accompanied by one of our experienced skippers. Each day, you’ll sail from one island to another, often stopping along the way for a swim in a calm bay, hand-picked by your expert skipper. When you arrive at each port town, your skipper will provide suggestions of things to do and places to see. You will have plenty of free time to do as much or as little as you wish. Join your fellow travellers in the evenings for optional group dinners in local restaurants. Fall asleep each night to the gentle rocking of the water, cosy in your private sailing yacht and wake up to see the sunrise to do it all again the next day.

No meals are included on our sailing trips in Croatia. An optional group kitty is suggested, which is an on-ground payment put into a central fund managed by travellers. This kitty helps fund breakfast and lunch on the boat and other small items such as ice, water, snacks and drinks.  

Travellers are responsible for preparing these meals onboard and shopping at port, where supermarkets are often very close to the mooring. Kitty amounts are subject to change to reflect local price increases. On Day 1, the skipper will talk through the kitty and how it will be managed (by yourself or fellow travellers). The kitty will be collected when you arrive at the welcome meeting or in stages throughout your trip.

Every night you’ll be docked at the marina right in the heart of town. All sailing is done during the day, mostly in the mornings. Most days, you’ll arrive at your next location in the early afternoon, giving you plenty of time to join the included activities and have free time in the evenings.
