What's Noosa weather like?
Known for its stunning, golden beaches and crystal clear water, Noosa is a destination that delivers the perfect summer getaway all year round.
Due to Noosa's geographical location in North Queensland, this iconic destination enjoys mild but warm temperatures and sees a lot of sun, even in winter. Following the characteristics of a tropical climate, Noosa experiences warmer temperatures for most of the year and high levels of humidity during the months of January, February, and March. This humidity can sometimes cause rainfall, however, it generally doesn't last for very long.
What's the weather like in Noosa in summer?
Between the months of December and February, the weather in Noosa is at its best. With a comfortable average temperature of around 27°C, travelling to Noosa in summer allows you to participate in outdoor activities such as swimming and other water sports, hiking, and bike riding. While the temperatures in Noosa are known to be quite mild, you can still experience hot weather past 30°C. These high temperatures are most likely to occur in January (the hottest month of the year) so try travelling in a different month if you're looking for cooler weather.
January and February can also be quite humid with peak humidity of 66% occurring in the late afternoon. Due to the humidity and sticky feeling that comes with it, temperatures are likely to feel higher than what they actually are.
What's the weather like in Noosa in autumn?
The weather during Autumn is fairly similar to the weather experienced in summer with March being the warmest month out of the three. March is also the month with the highest chance of rainfall throughout the year and can experience high levels of humidity, especially in the mornings and afternoons, so be mindful of that when booking your holiday. The months of April and May are also likely to experience high levels of humidity but are less likely to see as much rainfall.
Despite the cooler temperatures (24°C is the average), autumn is still a great time for enjoying outdoor activities. The temperature in Noosa's water is warm all year round so, while the temperatures might not be as warm as in summer, you can still make the most out of this region's famous beaches.
What's the weather like in Noosa in winter?
Winter is actually one of the best times to travel to Noosa as the weather is still warm but there are fewer crowds, so you can enjoy more of what this tropical destination has to offer in relative peace and quiet. While temperatures in the months of June, July, and August are lower than those found in other seasons, they are by no means 'cold' with the average temperature sitting at around 20°C. However, temperatures can drop down to an average of 10°C at night so it's also best to carry a light jumper or cardigan with you to avoid being cold.
Thanks to its tropical climate, winter in Noosa rarely sees rain with August being the second-lowest month for expected rainfall. This is good news for those that want to take advantage of Noosa's natural beauty as you'll still be able to lay on the beach, hike through lush rainforests, and enjoy other outdoor activities without the fear of rain ruining your plans.
What's the weather like in Noosa in Spring?
Spring is another great time to visit Noosa as the crowds aren't as large as they are in summer, not as much rainfall is expected as it is in autumn, and the temperatures are warmer than they are in winter. The average temperature in spring is around 24°C and lowers to around 12°C at nighttime. Throughout spring, each day enjoys more hours of sunshine than other months of the year meaning you can maximise your time spent outside swimming or laying on the beach, walking through national parks, and other activities such as shopping for outdoor dining.
