Why you'll love this trip
  • Experience the local hospitality during your homestay with a charming local family in Moulay Idriss – where you can enjoy a hearty homecooked feast by your host and learn about their culture.
  • Embrace the Atlantic breeze in the coastal town of Tangier and see the vivid blue hues of Chefchaouen over sunset, while you explore the houses and laneways of this surreal city.
  • See the impressive Roman ruins of Volubilis, which rise from the Jebel Zerhoun Plain, and get lost in the charm of the zigzagging lanes in the once imperial capital of Meknes.
  • Relive a medieval past in bustling Fes. While many tourists get lost in the labyrinthine streets of the medina, you'll have a local guide to show you the way.
  • Where else would you find drummers, dancers, fortune tellers, jugglers, street food vendors and old medicine men all in one place? In Marrakech of course, exploring the acclaimed Jemaa el-Fnaa.
  • By travelling on this trip, you’ll directly support our Intrepid Foundation partner, Education for All. Donations help them support girls in the High Atlas Mountains through secondary school, bringing a generation of women out of the cycle of illiteracy, poverty and early marriage.

Is this trip right for you?
  • Ramadan will be from 10 March to 08 April in 2024. Travelling during this period can be a rewarding cultural experience, however some regular services may not be available during the daytime, such as restaurants or coffee bars, and occasionally travel can be disrupted by events. Your leader will adjust the itinerary accordingly, but please consider your travel arrangements carefully before booking travel for this period.
  • The trains can get busy at peak periods, so we’d recommend packing lightly and compactly to make sure you can get on and off the train easily and quickly. You'll need to be able to handle your luggage through busy train stations.

We had the opportunity to join the Morocco’s Northern Tour with Intrepid. The small group tour was exactly what we were looking for and the itinerary matched to the key areas we wanted to cover. Our guide Redouan was very helpful and navigated us through the country with ease and care. The tour includes public transport, home stay and home made cuisine in some places which we enjoyed.

Northern Morocco trip was fantastic with great towns and cities and wonderful people all around! Do not miss Chefchauon as most travel companies don't go there, it's was a highlight of the trip!

This was my first Intrepid trip and it was beyond expectation!! So lovely to meet all beautiful people and traveled together. I liked the size of group, small enough to get to know each others. Our guide Abderrahim was kind and hardworking, made our trip so special. Thanks so much. I’m already looking forward to do next Intrepid trip :)

Intrepid’s and our tour leader were excellent. An easy way to be organised between locations with excellent local guides to take you through your new cities. Highly recommend Morocco

The intrepid organisation is at best a fair weather organisation. It promises to follow up but in my case never did. I received an electric shock and was told that it was a problem for the hotel. I requested authorisation for an ECG check with no joy now 4 days later. Very disturbing. Was assured head office would call me (I left my number) but they never called. Never again with intrepid.
