Ramadan festivities and dreamy scenes in Cappadocia await

A Turkish adventure in April ticks all the boxes for culture vultures. As well as a kaleidoscope of colour at the Istanbul Tulip Festival, get ready to experience a different side of Turkey during Ramadan (ending on 21 April). Travel during this holy month can be a little slower in the day, but things get pretty lively when the sun goes down and locals gather for Iftar celebrations (shared meals to break the day’s fast). If hiking or hot air ballooning over Cappadocia’s otherworldly fairy chimneys is on your bucket list, April is one of the best months to do it without the scorching summer heat.

We enjoyed our Turkiye trip immensely. Our leader Hayati did a fantastic job guiding us through the country and explaining the culture. All locations were well worth the visit. We felt safe and were well looked after resulting in an enjoyable and stress free holiday. Highly recommended.

Intrepid's tour leader Furkan was erudite and passionate and delivered a well researched and knowledgeable account of Turkey’s modern and ancient history with flair and wit that engrossed the entire tour group. Furksn was easy to seek out in downtime to learn more about the towns and centres we visited with particular emphasis on Ephesus which was just superb. Furkan artfully avoided peak crowd times which elevated our collective experience. A great trip.
