Do I need a visa for Pakistan?Â
Anyone travelling to Pakistan for tourism or business purposes must obtain a visa, which can be done on arrival (depending on your nationality) or online before your trip begins. You can also apply for a tourist visa at your local Pakistan embassy or consulate before travelling. Both e-visas and visas issued on arrival have differing lengths of stay, with e-visas valid for up to 3 months (but can be extended to 6 months) and VOA (visa on arrival) valid for a period of 30 days.Â
Do I need a specific travel visa for trekking in Pakistan?Â
No, you do not need a separate visa to join one of our trekking trips in Pakistan. Obtaining an e-visa or visa on arrival is sufficient.Â
E-visa eligibility and entry requirements
Thankfully, applying for an e-visa (online visa) is pretty straightforward and won't take too much time - all you need to do is complete the online application form on the Pakistan government's official website. Most nationalities can apply for this type of visa including Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United States of America, the United Kingdom and South Africa.Â
It'll take roughly 10 minutes to complete the application and between 24-72 hours for the application confirmation once submitted. However, some applicants may also need to present themselves at their nearest Pakistan consult or embassy for an interview in the meantime. Once you've received confirmation, your e-visa is usually granted on the same day but it may take up to 4 weeks for your visa to be granted so ensure you leave as much time as possible between your application and your departure date.Â
During the online application process, you'll need to provide your passport information and some personal information, including your family situation, evidence of your current financial and employment status, travel history and holiday details, so have these things handy before you start.Â
Pakistan visa feesÂ
While the cost of a Pakistan visa can change depending on the visa type and your nationality, you can expect to pay between USD 20-60. If you're applying for an e-visa, you'll have to pay this fee during the online application process and if you're applying for your visa on arrival, you'll need to pay the fee while you're waiting with immigration officials.Â

It is your responsibility to obtain relevant visa and travel information required for entry, departure and travel to each country or region you visit on your trip.
