Great organisation and group leader! Intrepid helps you get the best out of the beautiful region. I usually travel solo and the group was really fun and interesting. I would recommend to stay 2-3 days extra to Guatemala to go to ometepe island.

Guatemala and Beyond was the trip that capped my sojourn through Central America with all that distinguish this region - cradle of Mayan civilization, Fire and Brimstone - geographical and political and the Smiles of the people who inhabit this alluring land!

Thoughtfully planned itinerary covering diverse locations and activities. Most important -- excellent trip leader, Aura. If you considering this trip, I suggest asking if she would be leading it! Makes a world of difference

I had the time of my life on this trip. It was my first tour so wasn't sure what to expect but Aura is an amazing guide. The hotels are nice. The travel is fine. The experiences and people I met were amazing. Life changing experience probably.

Guatemala & Beyond

Do this trip! It's an excellent, albeit short (at 9 days) journey through some amazing countries. Some travel days are long but broken up with stops along the way. Border crossings are also part of the experience! For me, there was no one single highlight - each country had something wonderful to offer. Our group leader Benjamin was exceptional - amazing knowledge and enthusiasm and just an all round decent guy. Note that some hotels don't have hot water but given the heat and humidity, cool water was a great relief! Hair dryers weren't available in all hotels so take one if needed and AC can be purchased at some hotels. This trip will take you through 4 countries in 9 days. It's therefore not possible to see it all. It will however give you a taste of what Central America has to offer and I can highly recommend it! I would suggest arriving a day or 2 early though so you can spend time in Antigua and stay an extra day at the end in Granada if you have time.
