  • Be romanced by the well-preserved architecture, welcoming atmosphere and superb eateries of Hoi An

Is this trip right for you?
  • The weather in Vietnam can be hot and sticky, particularly during the monsoon seasons, so ensure that you pack accordingly. Please be sure to pack sunscreen and a hat, especially for wearing when out kayaking in Halong Bay.
  • In order to see as much as possible, this trip involves some long journeys, including by overnight train where the amenities are shared and basic. For more about what this experience is like, see our blog post here: https://www.intrepidtravel.com/adventures/what-to-expect-on-an-overnight-train-in-vietnam/
  • On Days 3 and 4 we cover up to 60kms/37 miles on the bike so a good level of fitness is required.

Absolutely incredible trip. Equally physically challenging and relaxing. The 9 nights went really quickly. My teen really enjoyed the company of other kids the same age and I enjoyed the company of the other parents. Highly recommended and we return home with feeling fuller and with a deeper understanding of Vietnamese culture.

Having self-travelled the world extensively over 4 years, with many self-organised trips, I was at first hesitant. However, this was the first organised tour group trip I have been on and it was one of the most enjoyable holidays, well organised, well matched guests, fantastic guide, I couldn’t be happier.

Best family holiday we have had together! Loved tħat the kids had friends and we were all being active and enjoying such an amazing adventure together led by the most amazing guide, Thanh. We didn’t have to think about anything. It was all so well organised. We loved the homestay, the overnight boat and even the overnight train! The food over there is addictive! I want to go back!

We would highly recommend this tour for active families who like to do a lot in a short period of time. Drinks by the pool it’s not - authentic travel, lots of kilometres on bike and foot, amazing food and organisation

Our family had the best time on this trip. The kids were all kept really engaged, and I felt we experienced a breadth of what Vietnam has to offer. Worth being in decent shape!
