To get to your Okavango Delta campsite, you'll travel by mokoro, a dugout canoe, to pass over the shallow waterways. Mokoros are small but stable, and local tribesman will be there to guide you.
Our purpose-built overland vehicles allow for excellent game viewing, equipped with large sliding windows. They have no air-conditioning, however, so they can get dusty and hot at times.
The going can be slow over the long distances and often bumpy roads. A little bit of patience will go a long way towards your enjoyment of this beautiful land!
This is a participatory camping trip, so it's important to embrace the team spirit and help with camp setup, food preparation and cleaning.
As the early bird catches the worm, the early camper sights the animals. There will be many early starts either to make use of the better safari time or to beat the morning traffic on long travel days.

South Africa in tents is the way to see this place.... it is a program for teamwork and cooperation. If you cannot cooperate with others and be part of a team it's not for you. Africa is magnificent and deserves the greatest respect from those willing to appreciate the opportunity to meet its wonderful people and share its natural beauty.

I have travelled twice with Intrepid now and I enjoy the diversity of the itinerary and the off the tourist track experiences. The guides always have an extensive knowledge of their country, events and it is wonderful to learn about a country first hand rather than from the media or textbooks, wonderful unique experience for any person on quest
