Alaska is a wonderful destination but the overall organization of this tour needs to be reviewed and some adjustments made to make sure that travelers have a better understanding of what to tour requires and that they overall better enjoy the tour.

This trip was wonderful, I know Alaska is a BIG state but I did not realize the diversity of the land...lots of water, lakes, mountains, beauty, peacefulness. Alaska is a place full of spectacular spaces and vastness...somewhere everybody should visit once in your lifetime.

I was disappointed at first to be the only person on my tour, but guide Stephen Bugno went out of his way to make my holiday enjoyable, challenging, educational, fun and a wonderful and unforgettable experience.

Alaska is wonderful, unfortunately our second guide (first unfortunately contracted Covid) and Intrepid were not so wonderful. Organisation from Intrepid side was poor, guide unprepared and lacked knowledge of Alaska. For price paid this trip did not feel like good value.

I loved this trip! It is exactly as described- a hiking trip. You will be hiking and moving almost everyday. The trip was a good mix of moving locations often, but also having multiple nights in the same hotel. Our tour guide, Sean, was incredibly friendly and knowledgable about the areas we travelled. We altered the itinerary and managed to fit in more hikes and time in the towns we wanted. There was almost always an opportunity to stop at grocery stores to get trail lunches and less expensive dinner options. August was a rainy time to go, but the blueberries, salmonberries, raspberries, and watermelon berries we snacked on along the trail made up for it. I would recommend this trip if you want a taste of Alaska and to get your hiking in!
