Hungary offers travellers a slice of classic, Central European grace and grandeur.
With cobbled streets, charming castles, magnificent concert halls and historic churches, Hungary is all class. But what might surprise travellers is that Hungary is also a burgeoning wine-producing region, home to bucolic villages, thermal lakes, steaming hot springs and markets filled with organic produce - what's not to love?

Cycle the Danube
Eamonn · Traveled April 2023
we were the first trip of the season. The trip was better than the brochure described. The weather was perfect. The other guests were great. Our guide Andro and driver Timo were excellent. With these 2 anything was possible. Looking forward to our next trip!!

Cycle the Danube

The Danube Intrepid cycling trip is a great way to get into activity holidays. Very few inclines or hills, lovely views and visited out of the way, beautiful towns in Slovakia and Hungary, with marvellous food. The guides make the trip informative and fun. Well worth doing!

Memorable trip with Sasa as our guide and Andro as our driver! Riding was just the right pace and the stops were well-planned. Lots of laughs with the group. Being immersed in the culture provided a valuable educational experience. Highly recommend this trip.

Cycle the Danube
Zoe · Traveled September 2022
Cycled the Croatian Islands last year and eagerly booked Cycle the Danube this year but oh what a disappointment. We only Cycled the Danube one day, the rest included glimpses of the Danube or negotiating a bridge crossing the Danube. Not as flat as expected and some days were gruelling on a manual bike. Long days and early starts and mainly boring landscape with lots of road cycling. If you want a real challenge and are into concrete and fields then go for it but it wasn't for me at all. If it wasn't for the fantastic leaders and a mainly great group it would go down as the worst holiday!
