Eurail renews partnership with The Intrepid Foundation for 2026

November 2026

The European rail pass provider has renewed its partnership for the fourth consecutive year, reinforcing its shared mission to create positive change through travel.

Eurail has renewed its partnership with Intrepid’s non-profit, The Intrepid Foundation, for the fourth consecutive year, strengthening its ongoing commitment to tackling social and environmental challenges across Europe. As Intrepid’s biggest corporate supporter, the partnership underscores Eurail’s commitment to responsible travel, while advancing The Intrepid Foundation’s mission to create positive change through the joy of travel, community and connection.

Since the collaboration began in 2023, Eurail has donated more than €370,000 to Intrepid Foundation partners, enabling the Foundation to expand its impact across Europe and welcome nine new impact partners in the region. These include Cooperativa Coraggio, which promotes sustainable agriculture in Italy, Amurtel supporting refugee and migrant women and children in Greece, and Humana Zagreb, which provides employment opportunities in sustainable fashion for people with disabilities. Other partners include, Casa Caridad and Open Arms in Spain, Fonds de Dotation Les Extraordinaires in France, Re-Food in Portugal, Tasuleasa Social Association in Romania and KEDV in Türkiye.

Kavita Kooijman, Brand Strategist at Eurail said:

“Eurail believes the benefits of travel can go both ways, enriching both travellers and the destinations they encounter. Making meaningful connections and creating positive impact across Europe is core to what Eurail stands for, whether that be through helping to manage overtourism or ensuring that disadvantaged communities within visitor destinations also benefit from tourism.”

Corporate partners such as Eurail play a crucial role in strengthening the Foundation’s impact, with more than 10% of donations coming through these partnerships. Founded in 2002, The Intrepid Foundation was established to empower travellers to give back and it now has over 50 global partners across 35 countries worldwide. Over the past 20 years, it has raised more than AU$20 million for over 160 community partners, supporting initiatives in environmental protection, wildlife advocacy, addressing inequality and strengthening local communities.

Biheng Zhang, General Manager of The Intrepid Foundation commented:

“The Intrepid Foundation believes that travel can be a powerful force for good, and that we all have a part to play in protecting destinations for generations to come. Eurail’s longstanding partnership is a testament to this shared vision, driving meaningful impact in communities across Europe. Collective action has the power to accelerate progress, and we’re excited to continue partnering with Eurail and other like-minded organisations to turn shared values into tangible, long-term outcomes.”
