Why you'll love this trip
  • Only Petra’s Treasury – one of the Seven Wonders of the World – is stunning enough to be the temple of the Holy Grail. Your pass to this sacred site lasts two full days so that you can explore every nook and cranny at your own pace.
  • See the lowest point on earth – the Dead Sea – and float in its famously salty waters, soaking up its healing minerals and lathering yourself in the rejuvenating mud (if the mood strikes).
  • Sleep under the stars at a Bedouin-style camp in Wadi Rum with all the creature comforts, waking for a stunning sunrise and a thrill-seeking 4WD adventure.
  • Take a guided walk around Amman to learn about the city’s diverse history (and also to stake out where to get the best falafel and hummus).
  • Get a taste of the ancient and modern sides of Jordan with loads of free time – just ask your knowledgeable local leader, who’s always ready to answer every question and provide the best local tips.
  • By travelling on this trip, you’ll directly support our Intrepid Foundation partner, Animal Care in Egypt. Donations help them care for sick or injured working animals, like horses and donkeys, and help empower local communities with the knowledge and training to better care for their animals.

Is this trip right for you?
  • It’s not all hot desert days in Jordan, as the winter months (December to February) can be quite cold. Temperatures in northern parts of the country can drop to freezing overnight. Snowfall around these areas, as well as Amman, is common. Pack smart to prepare you for varying temperatures if travelling during these months.
  • You’re the boss on this trip. There’s loads of free time to do whatever you want or optional activities to show you the way. Maybe budget a little extra cash for activities that aren’t included.

I had an amazing time during this week in Jordan, loved every second of it, specially the days we spent in Wadi Rum. The guide, Mohammed, was incredible and taught us a lot about the history and culture of Jordan and other Middle Eastern countries. Highly recommend!

We achieved so much on this trip and still came away feeling relaxed! Mohammad, our guide, was generous with his time and knowledge about Jordan and showed us to the local gems amongst the hustle and bustle. Highlights were the Jeep tour through Wadi Rum and the friendships I came away with.

This week in Jordan was the trip of a lifetime! From zooming through the Wadi Rum desert on a 4WD and sleeping under the stars, to exploring the marvellous ancient sights of Petra, to floating on the Dead Sea…you will constantly be in awe of your surroundings and the beautiful country that is Jordan. Big shoutout to Mohammad for being the BEST tour guide - he was so organised and knowledgable about all things Jordan! (His entertaining dinner table stories were an added bonus!)

This trip was amazing! Everything is very well planned, even though it is considered a ‘basic’ trip, I was very comfortable throughout. Wonderful guide who gives such great insight into this beautiful country! Highly recommend!!
