Why you'll love this trip
  • Take a memorable kayak along the Nile with a unique active experience, paddling through ancient landscapes.
  • Witness some epic sights in Cairo, like the mysterious Sphinx and one of the Seven Wonders of the World – the Great Pyramids of Giza. Maybe even learn how to spell your name in hieroglyphics!
  • Sleep under the stars at a Bedouin-style camp in Wadi Rum with all the creature comforts, waking for a stunning sunrise and a thrill-seeking 4WD adventure.
  • Only Petra’s Treasury – one of the Seven Wonders of the World – is stunning enough to be the temple of the Holy Grail. Your pass to this sacred site lasts two full days so that you can explore every nook and cranny at your own pace.
  • See the lowest point on earth – the Dead Sea – and float in its famously salty waters, soaking up its healing minerals and lathering yourself in the rejuvenating mud (if the mood strikes).

Is this trip right for you?
  • Temperatures can be very hot in Summer, so we recommend a good hat, sunscreen and long sleeves to shade you from those rays. It’s not all hot desert days, as the winter months (December to February) can be quite cold. In Jordan, temperatures in northern parts of the country can drop to freezing overnight. Pack smart to prepare you for varying temperatures if travelling during these months.
  • The terrain at some historic sites can be rocky and steep. Solid walking shoes are essential, plus anything to shade you from those rays – a hat, sunscreen and long sleeves. If you don't feel up to it on a hot day, you can decide to not take part, or wander at your own pace.
  • This trip includes the adventure of overnight train travel, one of the most unique ways to wake up in a new and strange place. You’ll get a small bed and air conditioning in a shared room, but the train might not be as clean as you’re used to.
  • You’re the boss on this trip. There’s loads of free time to do whatever you want or optional activities to show you the way. Maybe budget a little extra cash for activities that aren’t included.

They went above and beyond to create the best experience. Mizo truly was an exceptional guide, learned so much while challenging myself both with meeting new people and places but with new activities and foods. Highly recommend

The Real Egypt part of the trip is overall not worth the money. There is hardly any temples included in the tour and every day paying extra seemed ridiculous. We were rushed through seeing a lot of important places to just go back to the hotel and have free time. An overall negative experience in an otherwise beautiful country. The Real Jordan part of the trip was incredible, felt very safe and was a great experience.

Highly recommend Egypt with intrepid! Had heaps of fun, learnt so much and met amazing people along the way. Mezu was an incredible guide - he was so knowledgeable about all of the ancient sites and we always felt really safe and well looked after. Sleeping overnight on the Nile in a Felucca was so much fun, and all of the ancient sites were mind blowing. 10/10 would recommend!

Overall trip was a great way to see Egypt and Jordan! Egypt was a very different experience to Jordan, consider your budget for Egypt and make sure you include extras funds for the optional activities. Additionally the hotels were below standard and a bit disappointing considering how cheap decent hotels are in Egypt. Pack bug spray, antiseptic and anti itching cream. Jordan was a very good experience and Wadi Rum desert was the highlight of the whole trip! Jordan is a bit more expensive so do all your shopping in Egypt!
