Why you'll love this trip
  • Buenos Aires offers an eclectic mix of European, Cosmopolitan and Latin flavours, as well as a booming cultural and nightlife scene. Explore the neighbourhoods of this lively, confident city on a full-day tour with a local guide.
  • Look for rainbows in the mist from both the Brazilian and Argentinian sides as you marvel at the power of Iguazu Falls which are higher than Niagara Falls and wider than Victoria Falls.
  • Visit a local Guarani community to meet some of the region’s few remaining indigenous people and learn how the falls were created when the serpent god M’Boy split the river in half.
  • Gaze over the dazzling city, mountains and bay of Rio de Janeiro from the foot of the famous Christ the Redeemer statue and immerse yourself in Brazilian culture, dance and music.
  • Get hands on making empanadas or pizzas for lunch, followed by the quintessential Argentinian sweet treat – alfajores – at an NGO in the Barracas neighbourhood.

Is this trip right for you?
  • There are several orientation walks and city tours during this trip so there will be quite a lot of walking. It’s important to always bring plenty of water, wear comfortable walking shoes and ensure you use adequate sun protection.

I absolutely recommend this trip. A great way to see highlights of this part of South America in a relatively short time, with all the stress taken out of the travel between destinations. Our group leader, Tomas, was brilliant, and the whole thing was a wonderful experience.

Our family of 4 with college-aged kids to Argentina and Brazil was simply amazing. We enjoyed bucket-list items at each location and made memories for a lifetime. Booking was easy, Intrepid handled all the details. Our guide was amazing and helped us to navigate cultures, translations, helped with recommendations and reservations, etc. Accommodations were nice enough, not fancy but all clean and comfortable. The local guides were also extremely helpful in each location. Nothing but good things to say about the trip and Intrepid!

It was my first time on an organised trip and I really enjoyed it! I nearly didn't book it, but so glad I did. Great mix of people - a family, a couple and 2 of us travelling solo. Andres the guide was amazing at ensuring everything ran smoothly + shared so much about the history, culture, politics etc of the places we visited. It was great to just soak it all in and not stress about how you are going to get from A to B. Iguazu Falls was incredible and I loved Buenos Aires!
