And undoubtedly it is the geography of Peru that makes its culinary culture so distinct. With the coast providing an abundance of fresh seafood, the Andean highland supplying a variety of potatoes and the Amazon rainforest delivering delicious seasonal fruits, it's unsurprising that Peru is one of the world's emerging foodie hotspots.

This trip visits places that are at high altitude, and as a result some people can suffer from altitude sickness, regardless of age or physical health. Please see the ‘Health’ section of the trip notes for more important information on this.
The cacao farm plantation accommodation facilities are basic but comfortable.
Although we visit Machu Picchu we do not hike the Inca Trail. We travel by train to Machu Picchu were altitude still may be felt, sitting at 2430m above sea level.

Domestic airlines require passengers' full passport details to issue their tickets. It is then very important that you provide this information at the time of booking.
A Single Supplement is available for this trip however the Plantation Farm Stay is excluded.
The airline for the internal flight on this trip is with LATAM or Avianca Airlines. The maximum luggage allowance for this flight is 23kg. Intrepid will not cover the cost of excess luggage if the weight exceeds this limit, it will be at the passenger's own expense.

We enjoyed everything including the cooking lessons, demonstrations, interaction with the locals, the organisation by Intrepid, great tour leader Jhonn, great tour mates but most of all we enjoyed going to Machu Picchu
