Trips from 1 January 2023 onwards

From 1 January 2023, Intrepid will no longer require travelers to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 (excluding all Polar trips and select adventure cruises).

However, we continue to strongly recommend that all Intrepid travelers and leaders get vaccinated to protect themselves and others.

Specific proof of testing or vaccination may still be required by your destination or airline. Please ensure you check travel and entry requirements carefully.

Getting to Hanoi largely depends on where you're traveling from, but if it's within Vietnam, you can catch an overnight train or flight to Hanoi. Hanoi also has an international airport, so if you're traveling from Australia, services such as Jetstar and Vietnam Airlines offer routes to and from Hanoi from cities such as Sydney and Melbourne. 

The best time to visit Hanoi is during spring (March to April) and autumn (September to November), when days are generally warm and sunny. The summer months in Hanoi tend to be extremely hot and humid with frequent rainfall while the winter months are cold (around 4°C at nighttime) and dry. 

The quality of internet services in Hanoi has greatly improved over the years, so you shouldn't have trouble accessing the internet if you're using an international SIM card or activated your international roaming option. Most cafes, restaurants and hotels also have free wi-fi making connecting with friends and family back home super easy. 

Absolutely. All passengers traveling with Intrepid are required to purchase travel insurance before the start of their adventure. Your leader will record your travel insurance details on the first day of the trip. Due to the varying nature, availability and cost of healthcare around the world, travel insurance is an essential part of every journey.
