Day 1 Uluru (Ayers Rock)

Begin this Red Centre adventure in the small outback town of Alice Springs. Then make tracks towards iconic Uluru, stopping at a camel farm en route to say “hi” to these unique creatures. Take in the beauty of Kata Tjuta on a guided walk through the Valley of the Winds, then sit back and enjoy an incredible Uluru sunset. In the middle of this isolated landscape, nothing can beat an evening curled up in a swag watching the desert stars dance across an endless night sky.

Day 2 Uluru/Kings Canyon

Rise early to experience a jaw-dropping sunrise over Uluru before exploring this giant sandstone formation up-close. Learn the story of the Mala people on a guided walk with a local Aboriginal guide, and admire the Indigenous art on display at a local cultural centre. Then head into Watarrka National Park and spend the evening camping.

Day 3 Watarrka National Park (Kings Canyon)/Giles Track

Vorbei an gewaltigen Felswänden aus rot-gelbem Sandstein wandern wir im Watarrka National Park durch eine exotische Welt zum natürlichen Felsenpool im Garten Eden. Nach einem Picknick führt die Reise nach Hermannsburg, einer Missionsstation der Aborigines, die für Kunst und Handwerk bekannt ist. Bestaunen Sie die Werke des einheimischen Künstlers Albert Namatjira. Nach einer Fahrt durch den roten Sand des Landes, erreichen wir die Wallace Rockhole Aboriginal Community, wo Sie am Abend das typische auf dem Grill zubereitete „Bush Tucker“ genießen können. Nutzen Sie die Gelegenheit um Gerichte aus der für Europäer ungewöhnlichen australischen Küche auszuprobieren.

Day 4 Alice Springs/ Western MacDonnell Ranges

Begin the day with a hike around Ormiston Gorge and perhaps also take a morning swim in a beautiful waterhole. Journey to Hermannsburg, a local Aboriginal community where Indigenous artist Albert Namatjira spent much of his life. Later, take a bumpy 4x4 journey across the desert to Palm Valley and Cycad Gorge. Be sure to have the camera ready on this final leg of the journey back to Alice Springs – the extraordinary scenes of Australia’s wilderness are bound to impress.
