Clothing and footwear
Activewear is your best bet for clothing on the Camino de Santiago. Think leggings, hiking pants, vests, t-shirts and shorts. Comfort is key (remember, you’ll be walking for hours most days), so aim for breathable, lightweight fabrics that will keep you cool under the Mediterranean sun.
Winter is mild in Spain and Portugal, so you’ll need pants and long-sleeved tops and warm layers, like a jumper in case you get chilly.
A sturdy pair of hiking boots or sneakers is key – make sure you walk around in them beforehand to break them in!
