Visit Cambodia on a food tour from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap
Forget any resemblance to the cuisines of Vietnam, Thailand and Laos, Cambodia has a unique and ancient food culture that is truly exotic. Using pepper rather than chilli to elegantly add spice, Cambodia's unpretentious food is laden with fresh herbs, spices, rice, freshwater fish and condiments. And while there are influences from French and Thai cooking, Cambodian cuisine has a style and flavour all its own. While travelling from Phnom Penn through to Siem Reap, discover the sights, sounds and flavours of Battambang, Banteay Chhmar and Angkor Wat, and marvel at a cuisine, culture and population so special that you will very quickly be won over for life.

Real Food Adventure - Cambodia SummaryAdd to Shortlist
Phnom Penh celebrates life with optimism and colour, and there are a wealth of riverside eateries, bustling markets and historic sites - both tragic and inspiring - to discover.
With the Sangker River running alongside, Battambang has wonderfully preserved French Colonial architecture, ornate Khmer temples and a laidback feel, despite being Cambodia's second-largest city.
Witness trees pushing through ancient rock and vines clinging to walls at Banteay Chhmar – an ancient Angkorian temple. Explore the tranquil temple ruins before joining a local family for an overnight stay. Sleep by torchlight in a Khmer stilted house and help the owners prepare a meal using traditional cooking methods and ingredients.
A vibrant nightlife, mouth-watering food, a time-worn French feel and certain famous temples on its doorstep - Siem Reap is a little town with a big, pulsating heart. Immense, awe-inspiring, extraordinary - the Angkor Wat temples are all this and much more. Built in the 12th century, this former Khmer city is nothing short of spectacular.

Real Food Adventure - Cambodia, May 2014
I loved the overall tour experience. We had a small group, and everyone got along well. The accommodation where we stayed was very nice, and comfortable. So much was included in the tour that I barely spent any money while away. I got to see so many wonderful places, including some that were off the well worn tourist trail - which I especially enjoyed - and the food theme for the trip was excellent! I loved trying so many new and unique things to eat!

Real Food Adventure - Cambodia, March 2014
Loved the trip and Pheap Chhoeurm was informative, helpful and very friendly to all of us. The person who was with him until Battenbang was also lovely. I asked a lot of questions and Pheap was always happy to take the time to answer them meaning that we all learnt a lot more about Cambodia. I think the tour covered everything even though it was sad at times. I have already told people about this tour. I think the food coverage was just right, not too much but just right.
