4 Day Kakadu Katherine Litchfield Safari SummaryAdd to Shortlist
Visit the Litchfield National Park and escape the heat beside cascading tropical waterfalls and in refreshing swimming holes. Head west and meet the Limilngan-Wulna People, traditional owners of the land. This is an immensely sacred area for their people so the welcoming 'Cul Cul' is a humbling greeting. Discover more of the day-to-day culture and traditions by learning about some bush-tucker, mastering your didgeridoo technique or perhaps creating a hand-woven treasure to take home. Wind down the day with a cruise along the spectacular Mary River Wetlands, where the local crocodiles are often kind enough to join us.
Journey through rugged scenery to the spectacular 200 m Jim Jim Falls before moving on to the equally impressive Twin Falls. Travel on to Pine Creek before spending the night near the Nitmiluk National Park.
Hike through Ubirr and see ancient Aboriginal rock art that has survived almost 1500 years. Clamber up to a rocky lookout where the Nardab Floodplain, and aptly named East Alligator River, make for an astonishing view. This hike is rewarded with a splash in the plunge pools at Maguk (Barramundi Gorge) before retreating to camp.
Explore the extraordinary Katherine Gorge from the water, then take a dip in the irresistible Edith Falls. Return to Darwin and perhaps enjoy a few drinks in the heart of this unique Top End city.
