Why you'll love this trip
  • Explore Copenhagen like a local and hop on a bike. There is no better way to see the major sites, as well as explore hidden corners of this beautiful city.
  • Don't miss Gothenburg's Haga district, with its picturesque wooden houses and the iconic Skansen Kronan, as well as laid-back Langgatan street.
  • Take a ferry to Vrango Island, a stunning fishing town in the Gothenburg Archipelago, and discover this rocky nature haven by kayak (summer months only).

Is this trip right for you?
  • The areas visited on this trip can be very cold at night throughout the year, especially at the start and end of the season and during the winter months. On the other hand summers can have mixed weather, with some very hot days. Please familiarize yourself with what climate to expect, and bring appropriate clothing for adverse weather conditions, including base layers, hat, gloves, scarf, coat and anything else that you think may be applicable.
  • Scandinavia can be an expensive destination in many ways, from museum entrance fees to optional activities, but especially in terms of eating out. Please bear this in mind when booking this trip. Your leader will be at hand to advise on how to save money.
  • Please note that on this trip there will not be much time in Oslo and Copenhagen - extra time is recommended for both cities. Please consult with your agent about booking additional accommodation in both cities (subject to availability).
  • Hotels in Europe often don't have double beds, but rather two single beds that can be pushed together/apart. Rooms in Scandinavia tend to be small, and occasionally bathrooms will be shared with other guests.
  • On this trip you must pack as lightly as possible because you will be expected to carry your own bag and although you won't be required to walk long distances with your luggage (max 30 minutes), we strongly recommend keeping the weight between 15kg / 33lb. Most travellers carry their luggage in a backpack, although an overnight bag with a shoulder strap would suffice if you travel lightly. Smaller bags or backpacks with wheels are convenient although we recommend your bag has carry straps to accommodate the cobbled streets, uneven surfaces, stairs and steps you are likely to encounter while carrying your luggage. You'll also need a day pack/bag to carry water and a camera etc for day trips.
  • This trip gives you a taster of southern Scandinavia which doesn't cover the Norwegian Fjords. If you would like to explore further you may want to consider looking at other longer trips - Copenhagen to Northern Norway (AMSSC), Scandinavia & Baltic Circuit (AMSOC), Complete Scandinavia (AMSAC)

"A Taste of Scandinavia" is aptly titled! We got to experience a wide range of great activities and see a ton, all within just a seven day span. Our itinerary was pretty packed, but that's exactly what we wanted. Our guide was extremely knowledgable and affable throughout. Would recommend 10/10!

This was a very quick taste of Scandanavia and has piqued my interest in spending more time in these countries, particularly Norway. Be prepared for lots of walking and use of public transport and ensure you have luggage suitable for walking between different types of public transport on cobblestones. Nikoli our tour leader was great, he was knowledgeable and extremely well organised.

This was a quick trip but gave us a really good introduction to Scandinavia. Nikoli was a very organised and informative tour leader who managed to get us everywhere by public transport really well.

The taste of Scandinavia trip was a really good way to see these 3 lovely countries, there is a really good mix of planned activities and free time for you to explore the place on your own. The visit to Vrango Island was my favourite day of the trip, going kayaking and swimming in the sea there was so much fun and not something I would have organised on my own so I was very glad we went. I would also definitely recommend Sonja as a tour leader too because she made the whole trip so much fun!
