Launceston Tours & Holidays

Launceston is Tasmania’s second-largest city and the gateway to the Tamar Valley

A city where historic streetscapes and century-old parks and gardens sit beside revitalized areas such as the Launceston Seaport with its restaurants and cafes. A boardwalk links the Seaport to Inveresk where you can visit one of Australia’s best regional galleries, the Queen Victoria Museum. It's the perfect base for exploring the cool-climate vineyards of the Tamar Valley, national parks such as Narawntapu (known for wildlife spotting) and Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair.

A wonderful week exploring the east coast which is full of amazing surprises. The trip with Intrepid was good value, and delivered on what was offered. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys hiking and exploring in nature.

Highlights of Tasmania

Jennie · Traveled February 2024
Thoroughly enjoyed the Highlights of Tasmania tour. Although only 6 days we saw so much and had such full & fun days it seemed much longer (in a good way!). There was so much beauty. There was the right mix of history, pretty places, hiking and animal sightings.

I’ll always remember this trip. Tasmania was beautiful, the itinerary was great and the leader Steve was so genuine and professional. His pride in Tasmania was palpable. You won’t regret going on this trip!
