Pack your sunglasses and swimsuit for a trip to the South Pacific.
Say Ia Orana to a tropical holiday in paradise! From snorkeling in crystal clear water to four-wheel driving around coconut plantations, the South Pacific region is the perfect place to kick back and relax. But, it’s not all beaches and bliss – there’s a rich French Polynesian culture to immerse yourself in. Meet the friendly locals and embrace the local Tahitian adage of ‘no worries’. Or, if you’re the active type, you might opt for a hike to check out ancient Polynesian ruins in the jungle.

Highlights of South Pacific Cruises

See dolphins in Tiputa Pass
There’s nothing quite like the thrill of seeing a pod of dolphins riding the waves. In Rangiroa’s Tiputa Pass you can take a boat trip to try and spot these playful mammals as they swim and leap through the turquoise waters.

Explore a volcanic crater on a 4x4 tour
The diverse landscape on this rocky isle of Mo'orea includes eight huge mountain peaks that rise out of the lagoon, pineapple plantations, rainforest and sandy beaches, making it a sight to see.

Visit an ancient marae (temple) at Taputapuatea
Taputapuatea was recently listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was once considered the most important religious temple in Eastern Polynesia. Restoration of Taputapuatea began in 1994 and is still ongoing today.

Visit the Pink Sand Island
Tikehau is also known as the Pink Sand Island, due to the stunning pink beaches. But the colour doesn’t stop at the sand – the coral lagoon here is full of tropical fish, and the pretty village of Tuherahera is covered with vibrant native flowers like hibiscus and bougainvillea.
Why choose Intrepid

Small ships, small groups
With fewer than 50 passengers on every ship, our groups are the perfect size for really getting to know your fellow travellers. Smaller groups mean more personalised service, like one-on-one chats with your leader about history, culture and food, or your favourite beer handed to you by the bar manager at the end of the day.

Specialised service
We’re right there with you to ensure your adventure is memorable for all the right reasons. Our expert local leaders facilitate incredible land experiences, while the ship’s friendly crew make sure you have everything you need – from a room that’s sparkling clean to a glass of sparkling wine – to enjoy your time on board.

Dining with a local twist
Whether it’s a barbecue on a deserted beach, the catch-of-the day cooked up by your onboard chef or the gourmet breakfast that’s served each morning, our culinary experiences are designed to complement your journey and help you create memories you’ll savour forever – both on and off the boat.

Cruise the seas less travelled
Our small ships give you access to those out-of-the-way spots the big ships can’t reach. We’ll show you the guidebook favourites from a new perspective, then cruise away from the crowds so you can stroll through seaside villages, swim in hidden coves, and get a real taste of what life is like for the locals. Â

A floating boutique hotel
Our ships combine all the comforts and personality of a boutique hotel with the freedom of the open water. Relax in your well-appointed cabin and wake to a different outlook each morning. Enjoy panoramic views from the sun deck, spend time in comfortable lounges and dining rooms, or dine al fresco under the stars.
