Afterwards, join a local family for a traditional home-cooked lunch and enjoy free time before boarding an overnight sleeper train back to Cairo.
A fantastic fusion of ancient wonders and modern delights, Cairo is as charming as it is chaotic. Boasting a vast array of sights and sounds, there is too much to do and so little time. Why not come a couple of days early to visit the Pyramids and Great Sphinx, explore the markets or take a ride down the Nile.
Once a small fishing village, Dahab is now celebrated as one of Egypt’s best beach spots and diving destinations. Relax on the sandy shore or don a mask, grab some flippers and explore the region’s wondrous underwater world.
Drive through windswept plains to our secluded beach camp. A true hidden gem, Sawa Camp is situated on dazzling golden sands. Those keen to hit the water can go for a snorkel or dive on the nearby reefs. At the day’s end, sleep in beach huts and listen to the waves lap against the shore.
Venture across the Gulf of Aqaba by ferry to the kingdom of Jordan. Spend the night in the seaside city of Aqaba, renowned for its abundant marine life and excellent diving.
Be entranced by the aura of the desert on the drive through Wadi Rum. Stare out in wonder at lunar-like rock formations, constantly changing sand dunes and towering rocky peaks. Discover first hand why this majestic place is also known as ‘The Valley of the Moon’. Eat dinner cooked on an earthen oven, share stories with our Bedouin hosts and sleep under sparkling stars.
Head north to Petra, a World Heritage site also known as the Rose City. See rock-cut tombs dating back eons, pink-stone temples and an impressive amphitheatre. Those feeling energetic can walk up the steps to the magnificent monastery for incredible views of the area.

Travel to Istanbul and discover a magical city of minarets, mosques and markets that will inspire and delight. Get to know Sultanahmet or bargain with cheeky vendors in the Grand Bazaar.
