Enjoying the local pace in Prague

Urban Adventure in Prague Czech Republic

In a few hours Intrepid Urban Adventures help you get under the skin of the city you’re visiting.

These day tours with a difference are a great way to connect with a city and as Rodger and Gwen Elliot discovered, where better than Prague to be shown around town by a local…

“Prague is renowned as being one of the world’s most fascinating cities, and it is a reputation well-deserved. Many friends had said “You must visit Prague if ever you get the chance”, so when we were in Europe earlier this year it was a top priority to include it in our itinerary.

Having never visited the area before, we decided to book an Intrepid Urban Adventures walking tour of the city on our first morning, to get insight from a local guide and ensure that we could make best use of the time available in our three days there.

Our accommodation was near the city centre, so it was a pleasant walk to the Charles Bridge, where after negotiating a number of closed streets because of the Prague Marathon we met ‘Andy’. It was meant to be a three-hour Urban Adventures walk, but we spent four superb hours together exploring the delights of Prague.

We certainly visited some of the major sites, including the magnificent Charles Bridge over the Vltava River, the John Lennon Wall, the Petrin Tower near the Stefanik Observatory and the Wallenstein Garden, as well as receiving a great introduction to the Prague Castle and its many features. We also saw some of the smaller ‘nooks and crannies’ of Prague, which we never would have found without Andy’s assistance.

We had studied a tourist guidebook to help prepare us for our visit, but our time was really enriched by the personal nature of our Prague Castle and Little Quarter tour. We can now add our voice to those who say “You must visit Prague if ever you get the chance.” We are certainly very glad that we did!”
