13th Annual Intrepid Tree Planting Day


Melbourne folk, you’re invited to the 13th Annual Intrepid Tree Planting Day.

Join in with Intrepid staff and travellers to plant trees, shrubs and grasses in the Yarra Bend Park near the Yarra River in Kew.

When: Sunday, 31 August, 2014, 10am to approx 2pm

Purpose: To increase the native vegetation – planting red and yellow gums, sheoaks and other shrubs along the embankment in the Willsmere escarpment; and conduct some maintenance and planting around the Bellbird Picnic area, and help attract more native birdlife to the area. We have 600 plants to plant.

Where: Bellbird Park picnic area, off the Yarra Boulevard, Kew. Melways map 45 A3.

Access: Yarra Boulevard can be accessed at several locations, including off Studley Park Road and the Chandler Hwy. There will be flags marking the turn into Bellbird Road, leading down to the picnic and parking area.
Public transport options include several buses along Princess Street and Willsmere Roads, Kew

RSVP: responsible.business@intrepidtravel.com telling us how many people are coming, for catering purposes.

We’ll provide: tools, lots of seedlings, fresh air and a hearty BBQ and vego friendly lunch.

Please bring: gardening gloves, sturdy footwear, and a water bottle.

This special day is arranged in conjunction with our friends at Parks Victoria and Tree Project, whom we also help support through The Intrepid Foundation.
