Flinders Ranges National Park tours & holidays
Get back to nature in Flinders Ranges
The site we know today as Flinders Ranges National Park has existed for more than 600 million years. While it’s likely changed a little over the years, this region of giant rock formations and great valleys feels as untouched as it gets. Explore the grand sites like Ikara-Wilpena Pound and Sacred Canyon under the guidance of an Adnyamathanha guide. Learn about ancient rock art and bush resources in the great outdoors, then experience a Welcome to Country ceremony and browse modern Aboriginal art at the galleries in town.
Flinders Ranges National Park highlights
Climb Mt. Ohlssen Bagge
If you’re looking for a challenge or want to tackle one of the park's most famous trails, look no further than Mt. Ohlssen Bagge. This trail takes you up steep, rocky terrain; however, the views of Ikara (Wilpena Pound) from the top are well worth the challenge.
Visit Sacred Canyon
Sacred Canyon is a culturally significant site for the Adnyamathanha people. Connect with Country as you listen to stories about local Aboriginal culture shared by your Adnyamathanha guides. Learn about ancient rock engravings, discover bush tucker and see how native plants are used to create bush medicines.
Hike the Dutchman's Stern
Embark on a scenic hike from Dutchman's Stern, weaving through a sugar gum forest that gives way to views of the Spencer Gulf and surrounding ranges and plains. On the way back down, keep your eyes peeled for kangaroos and other native wildlife as you pass through shady, she-oak woodlands.
