Finding the perfect accommodation has never been so easy.
We take the hassle out of finding a good place for the whole family to stay which, let’s be honest, can get a little time-consuming. Your accommodation is chosen with great care, and we try to avoid the big chain hotels – think local homestays in Costa Rica and tented camps in Kenya. While they won’t have all the creature comforts you’re used to, they will have plenty of character, a family-friendly atmosphere, and good quality facilities including ensuites and air conditioning. We even try to pick accommodation options that provide triple or quad rooms, as well as ones that offer conjoining rooms when they’re available.

Most families expect to be able to swim when they’re on holiday, so we’ve made sure there are swimming opportunities on most of our trips. We always stay in hotels with pools wherever possible, because there’s nothing more refreshing than a dip after a long and exciting day, and there will be plenty of those.
Safety first
Right up there with real life experiences, local flavours and cultural discovery is the matter of security. We take it seriously. That’s why we work with providers who can assure a safe and comfortable atmosphere when you’re hanging out at your accommodation, day or night.
Location, location, location
It’s no fun hiking or catching a taxi down the road to get to the exciting stuff. Holidays are precious days, and time is a-wastin’. So we always stay close to the action, for easy access to that pulsing city centre, beachy sunset, volcano view or wildlife congregation.
Mix it up
We source a variety of accommodation types so you get to experience unique ways of sleeping. Think overnight trains, heritage buildings, homestays, jungle camps and hotels. And that’s just the land-based stuff. We’ve also got gulets (Turkish sailboats), junks (for Halong Bay in Vietnam) and feluccas (Nile riverboats) for unforgettable overnight excursions.

When there are Maasai warriors with spears guarding your tent from lions, you know you’ve landed right in the middle of the action. Forget about the chain hotels with infinity pools overlooking the ocean – your tented camp in Loita Hills, Kenya, gives new meaning to the word ‘location’.
Overnight train in Egypt
Sleep-outs don’t get much better than an overnight train ride from Cairo to Aswan. Not only is this a fun activity for the whole family but you’ll be energized and ready to take on the rest of Egypt when you wake up thanks to the train’s comfortable sleeping quarters and good food.
