Like the saying goes, 'families that sweat together, stay together’ (or something like that).
There are many benefits of doing an active trip with your family: someone to make sure you stay hydrated, someone who’s got the sunscreen covered, someone to give you a foot massage. Ok, maybe not the last one. But it’s these reasons why we offer active trips exclusively for families. Whether it’s heart-pounding Pyrenees, pulse-racing Peru, or lung-pumping Nepal, there’s an active trip perfect for you and your loved ones. Check out our list of active family trips below.
Active adventures for families
Himalayan Teenage Adventure , April 2017
Amazing trip. We were very well looked after by our guide Sunaina. The Famous farmhouse in Nuwakot was a lovely place to relax after being in Kathmandu. Bandipur in the hills was picturesque. In Pokhara we took the opportunity to do some activities such as zip-lining and bungee jumping. It would have been nice to have an additional day in Pokhara to relax after the trek and enable us to explore more and I would have loved more time to be able to try out paragliding!!! The trek was fun and there was a definite sense of achievement once we reached the campsite. We were very well looked after by the porters and it is amazing what they can cook up for dinner with only what they carried up with them. Rafting was a highlight and in April both the water and weather was warm so we were able to have water fights between the 2 rafts when drifting along between the rapids. Rapids were exhilarating but not scary so ideal for a family trip. The accommodation in Chitwan was excellent. On the safari we managed to view several one horned rhino, peacocks, spotted deer, mongoose etc but don't expect a sighting of a tiger unless you are very lucky. My tops tips would be to pack light, we were able to get laundry done in 3 hours in Pokhara, wear plenty of sunscreen and take wet wipes so you can freshen up on the two camping nights as there is a toilet tent (hole in the ground) but no showers/ sinks etc.

Summer Pyrenees Family Holiday, July 2017
The trip was great - with just the right level of activity. The guides were fab and were very good with the kids, always encouraging them and making it fun for them. This holiday was the first holiday I felt like I could totally switch off - every thing was organised for you, so you didn't have to think about anything - you could just enjoy. Andorra is beautiful. White water rafting was highlight for the kids. Highly recommend this as a family holiday with teenagers - 12 and 15.
