Adventure Cruising

Your flights are booked, your visas are sorted, and your cabin’s been secured – all that’s left to do before you set off is pack.

These big cruise liners invariably market their ships as an escape from reality, which is kind of appropriate, because the reality of cruising is not so good. In fact, environmentally speaking, it’s a disaster.

One thing I discovered before the trip even began: there is no phrase more guaranteed to induce jealousy in your loved ones than ‘I’m sailing the Greek Islands.’

Cruising usually conjures up images of all-you-can-eat buffets, casinos, and crowded pools. But an Adventure Cruise is actually the opposite.

Last summer, I went on an Adventure Cruise around the Greek Islands and Turkey and honestly can’t imagine experiencing these exotic isles at any other time of year.

In South East Asia you’ll go from visiting a temple to a hidden limestone island or learning about the traditional ways of local fisherman.
