Day 3 Beechey Island and Radstock Bay

The first stop is Beechey Island, an historic site of Canada. Now home to scientific research stations, the island was once an Arctic exploration centre for expeditions in search of the Northwest Passage. Pay homage at the graves of the crewmen who died on John Franklin’s ill-fated 1845 expedition and see the memorial cross that was made from the remains of food tins left behind. Then experience ancient Thule culture at Radstock Bay. Well preserved subterranean homes give an ancient perspective on Arctic living.

Day 4 Croker Bay and Dundas Harbour

Visit Croker Bay to hopefully see its glacier calving icebergs into the water. Then travel on to Dundas Harbour, which is home to a now abandoned Royal Canadian Mounted Police outpost and Canada's most northerly graveyard, the final resting place of Mounties who served at this remote station until 1951.

Sam Ford Fjord's towering cliffs are on full display while sailing past this impressive coastline. Witness the dramatic 'Stump Spire', where base jumpers sometime jump into the icy waters below.
