Enjoy a day exploring this culture-filled capital at your own pace. Meet fellow passengers this evening at the welcome meeting.
Iceland’s Golden Circle features lava plains, towering mountains, tranquil lakes and wildflower-laden tundra. Be blown away by this spectacular part of the country and also visit the beautiful Gullfoss waterfall.
Visit a small town and admire the magnetic scenery of the Snaefellsnes peninsula.
Enjoy some time in this friendly town before exploring the remarkable fjords of the area.
Soak in the mineral rich waters of the Blue Lagoon, a heavenly place for restoration and relaxation.
It took three and a half years of volcanic eruptions to form the island of Surtsey, which came into being in the 60s. Heimaey, however, has been around for many centuries, but the town was partially destroyed by lava flow in 1973; both are an interesting reminder of just how volatile this region is. Visit these islands and look out for sea caves and the puffins who live there.
Prepare to be wowed on a visit to Vatnajokull glacier. Sail around icebergs in Jokulsarlon Lake and hopefully see the spectacular sight of ice calving off into the water below. The afternoon is spent in the charming town of Hofn.
The lovely town of Seydisfjordur is our stop today. Discover archaeological sites up to a thousand years old or wander the colourful town checking out the art and handicrafts.
The scenery outside of Husavik is dramatic to say the least: lava formations, mud pools, sulfur pits, canyons and waterfalls all make an appearance. This town is also where people come to whale watch, so keep eyes peeled when the ship departs. Cross the Arctic Circle later in the day on the journey to Grimsey Island.
Go walking in the beautiful landscapes of Hornvik, a stunning part of northern Iceland.
After arriving in Akureyri, take a flight back to Reykjavik, where this Icelandic adventure ends.
