Ski & snowboard tours

Whether you’re new to skiing or an experienced snow hound, it’s hard to beat an exhilarating week zipping down the slopes

Our group ski trips take the hard work out of planning a trip to the snow. We’ve got everything organised for your winter trip from transport and accommodation to an expert local crew ready to show you the best runs in New Zealand and beyond. We can also arrange your ski gear and clothing. And it’s not just the iconic snow fields like Mt Hutt, Ohau, Treble Cone, The Remarkables, Cardrona and Coronet Peak you’ll be exploring. We’ve included time away from the slopes to discover the best ski towns, too.

Why choose us

Adventure is in our genes

We’ve been running multi-active adventures for over a decade, which means we know the best local suppliers and experts to give you an exciting and safe experience.

Expert leaders

Don’t know what a carabiner is? Or how to secure a harness? No worries! Our experienced leaders will show you the ropes and give you safety briefings, while also showing you the best local bars, cafes and food joints.

Safety first

Our leaders are specially trained to run multi-active trips, so you'll be well taken care of. We run safety assessments on all our activities to meet local standards as well as our own comprehensive safety policy.

Learn new skills

These trips are for travellers who want to discover a new destination and unlock new skills like horse riding, canyoneering or mountain biking. They're designed to teach you something new – and maybe even make you an enthusiast!

Small groups

We have a maximum group size of 16 travellers – though most trips average just 10 people. This means you can reach out-of-the-way places and get to know the locals while enjoying plenty of camaraderie along the way.

Support the locals

We use travel as a force for good. We have close relationships with the communities we visit and always use local providers on our trips. By travelling with us, you'll also be empowering local communities.

We arrange everything for you

When you join an Intrepid snow adventure, everything is arranged so all you have to do is choose your favorite slopes and hit the snow. You can also stay right on the mountain with ski fields outside your front door or even under the world’s largest International Dark Sky Reserve. Add plenty of fun places to visit nearby and you have the perfect trip.

Experience a variety of snow destinations

What’s better than skiing or snowboarding on a fantastic field? Hitting the snow at multiple snow spots on the one trip. On an Intrepid group ski and snowboarding holiday, you can try up to five different snow fields on the same tour in Queenstown and beyond. With trips ranging from 5 to 12 days, there’s more than enough on-snow action to satisfy even the keenest skier.

Ski on private club fields

Your ski trip with Intrepid gives you access to local ‘untamed’ ski areas known as ski clubs or private fields with uncrowded slopes and no lift queues. If you want to soak up the old-school vibe of a traditional ski experience, these not-for-profit clubs are the perfect spot. Skiing and snowboarding at a private field also increases your chances of making fresh tracks on pristine powder snow.
