Welcome to Barcelona, Spain. Your adventure begins with a welcome meeting at 6 pm. Please look for a note in the hostel lobby or ask the reception where it will take place. We'll be collecting your insurance details and next of kin information at this meeting, so please ensure you have all these details to provide to your leader. If you arrive early, use free time to get your bearings of Barcelona. There are plenty of galleries, cafes and historic corners to keep you busy. Gaudi's bizarre La Sagrada Familia Cathedral is not be missed. As there's not much time in Barcelona, we suggest you head to the city a few days earlier so you can get under the skin of this great city. If you can't arrange a flight that will arrive in time, you may wish to arrive a day early so you're able to attend the welcome meeting. We'll be happy to book additional accommodation for you (subject to availability).
Discover the greatest of the great outdoors in the Pyrenees. Take a cogwheel train into the Nuria Valley and stretch legs on a hike.
Travel into France arriving in Carcassonne, a place that is straight out of a fairytale with its ancient city walls and towering turrets. Watch a golden sunset over this medieval landscape.
Venture across landscapes that inspired Van Gogh on the journey to Provence, one of the most picturesque cities in France. Explore centuries-old villages, visit the Arles Amphitheatre and delight in the region’s acclaimed food and wine.
Board a train and travel to Nice, the ideal base for explorations of the Cote d'Azur. Lie back on squeaky sand beaches, sample the pulsating nightlife or pay a visit to a cliff-top village known as ‘The Eagles Nest’. If time permits, head to Cannes on a day trip and try to spot bronzed celebs.
Pull the walking shoes on and set off along the legendary trail that links the five villages of la Cinque Terre. Absorb breathtaking views of the Italian coast, either walking the entire way or catching a train.
Travel to Pisa to marvel at its famous wonky tower and take the time to visit the Baptistry and Duomo. Continue on to Florence, the cultural heart of Tuscany and the place where some of history's greatest artists reveal their finest works. Then, visit Siena and uncover vibrant public squares, well-preserved churches and some of the friendliest locals around.
While in Rome, enjoy free time to scour the many city sights and soak up the cosmopolitan vibe. Perhaps step back in time at the Colosseum and visit the Pantheon before the tour is over.
