Why you'll love this trip
  • Kick back and relax in the lakeside town of Bacalar, known for its deep blue cenote and aquamarine lagoon.
  • Escape the crowds and take a refreshing dip at Yokdzonot, a lesser-known cenote in the heart of the Yucatan managed by the local Maya community.
  • Travel to Sian Kaʼan Biosphere Reserve, where you’ll explore the Maya site of Muyil. Unlike many of Mexico’s well-known ruins, most of these ancient temples are shaded by lush forest.
  • Experience Chichen Itza, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Your tour of the ancient ruins includes a visit to the nearby Piste community and a traditional lunch.
  • Sip zingy margaritas, munch on local cuisine and soak up as much culture and history as you can in Merida, Yucatan’s charismatic capital.

Is this trip right for you?
  • Some included activities, such as guided tours of archaeological sites, can be quite strenuous. Be sure to bring suitably sturdy footwear.
  • The tropical climate of Central America means conditions can be hot and humid. Always carry plenty of water with you and stay hydrated, especially on walking tours. There will of course be plenty of chances to swim!
  • It's a good idea to learn as many Spanish words as you can. Locals are very friendly, but can be shy, so you'll need to make an effort to break the ice. It's a great way to show respect and involve yourself in their culture.

Mariana Becerra was one of the best tour guides. She wasn't just a well versed tour guide but an experienced, enthusiast traveller herself that liked to have fun with the group.

Great trip that introduces you to the Yucatán as advertised. Different stop/start points is odd and expensive. I recommend the ADO bus to/from the airport for 400 pesos.

We have unforgettable memorable experience. We learned a lot of the places we visited. We experience delicious authentic Mexican cuisines. We could have given more historical information of the villages, towns and cities were passing by but did not say. Transport vehicles could have been fitted with entertainment facilities to avoid boredom.

After coming from holiday I thought you need some feedback from us for your business with Intrepid. Overall it was very good. We enjoyed it very much. As we discussed it started with a hiccup. The driver took us to the right hotel, Hacienda Maria Bonita in Playa del Carmen which was changed from the original booking in hotel Coco Rio. When we asked receptionist, Fernando he said we did not have reservation. By the time our transfer driver left. The weather was really very hot for us. We had to take taxi to Hotel Coco Rio costing 150 peso. When we arrived we found that Coco Rio was shut for renovation. Nobody was there. We took helps from local people and managed to get in touch with you. Luckily we had a Mexican SIM card so that I could communicate. After communicating with you we found out that our booking was changed from Coco Rio to Hacienda Maria and our driver took us to the right place. We had to hire another taxi to go back to Hacienda Maria costing us anther 125 peso. Fernando was still there. I asked him why he said before that we did not have reservation. He did not have any answer. I was very exhausted and really upset about the whole issue. I mentioned the issue with Suzana, our guide. She asked me to get in touch with Intrepid. Please ask Intrepid to explain to me what happened and refund my taxi fare at least?. If you need any further information please let us know. We must say that we enjoyed the holiday apart from that issue. We visited beautiful memorable places. We enjoyed the local foods and hospitalities very much in every stops. Kind regards. Mihir Sarkar
