Moving around in Las Vegas itself can be quite easy if you're staying in a hotel that's located along the strip since you can walk (if your destination isn't too far away) or hail a cab from any hotel entrance.
If walking's not your vibe or it's too hot to even contemplate walking 2 metres, let alone 200, Las Vegas does have pretty good public transportation in the form of the monorail. Alternatively, if you want to take your holiday from casual to fancy, you can always organize private car transportation or get the full VIP treatment with a private limo. Explore these choices below.
Travel Las Vegas by monorail
Travelling up and down the Las Vegas strip has never been easier, thanks to the monorail. Built in 1995 and super convenient when it comes to fast, clean, and efficient transportation, monorail trains arrive every 4-8 minutes at each of the seven stations along the strip and are guaranteed to get you to your desired destination in 15 minutes or less.
With different ticket options available depending on your travelling needs, the monorail will deliver you to iconic sights and attractions without making a dent in your budget. That's a win/win situation.
Hailing a cab
While you might be accustomed to simply walking onto the sidewalk and hailing a taxi in other parts of the country, things are done a little differently in Las Vegas. If you want to travel by taxi, you'll have to hail them from hotel entrances or taxi stands. Unfortunately, taxis aren't able to accept hailed fares due to the fact that it's against the Las Vegas Taxicab Authority.
Having said that, there is no shortage of taxis available in Las Vegas and there are often lines of taxis waiting to take passengers to their desired destinations. All you need to do is make your way to a hotel entrance and grab the next available taxi.
Walking around Las Vegas
Not only is walking a great form of exercise but it can also be a great way to see the city. Located up and down the strip are Las Vegas' most iconic hotels and sights, such as Caesar's Palace, the Sphinx at the Luxor, and the Bellagio Fountains outside of The Bellagio Las Vegas.
As a friendly reminder, make sure you're putting on sunscreen before you leave your hotel! The sun in Las Vegas can get very hot, especially in summer, but it can still produce high UV ratings during the cooler months as well.
Organize a private car or limo
If you're looking to step your holiday up a notch and get the full VIP experience, then hiring a private car or limo for the evening is the way to go.
A quick Google search will point you in the right direction when it comes to choosing the right private transportation company for you. Most companies will charge hourly and you'll have exclusive and unlimited use of the vehicle during the time you've booked it.
Alternatively, the hotel you're staying in might be able to arrange private transportation for you.
