Travel to the Middle East and take an active family tour of Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula.

Had Moses stood atop Mt Sinai to receive the Ten Commandments of Travel, ‘thou shalt visit Egypt’ would surely have been near the top of them. After all, this is the land where ancient deserts meet azure waters and dramatic, biblical landscapes serve as a fitting backdrop for cities unmoved for thousands of years. Using the ocean refuge town of Dahab as a base, embark on a camel trek to remote Bedouin communities, follow in the hoof-marks of Lawrence of Arabia on a jeep tour and cool off with a range of optional water sports activities from scuba diving to kayaking. With plenty of action and adventure for the whole family, this active tour of Egypt’s legendary Sinai Peninsula is not to be missed.

Itinerary

Welcome to Dahab, a chilled-out town with some serious charm. Take some time to shake off the jet lag by gazing across one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world or enjoying some of Dahab’s delicious cuisine.
Prepare to get active and experience the Sinai Peninsula’s incredible array of outdoor experiences. First up is a camel trek through jagged canyons to meet Bedouin locals, who will treat you to a memorable homestay in their traditional camp. The following day, a jeep tour into the heart of the ‘Lawrence of Arabia’ desert provides a great opportunity to try some sand boarding on the massive sand dunes. Back in Dahab, why not cool off from the desert heat with some optional snorkelling, windsurfing, kayaking or scuba diving. An early morning hike to Mt Sinai is also well worth the effort, providing stunning views over the Sinai’s golden high country and stopping by St Catherine's Monastery. Regardless of faith, many travellers describe witnessing a sunrise over this legendary landscape as a truly a spiritual experience. On the final night, enjoy a group dinner with a Bedouin family.
Say farewell to Egypt and head home with some incredible memories of the beautiful Sinai Peninsula.
