A leader's perspective...
I always thought of the word exotic when I thought of Zanzibar. Travelling there I found that to be true. Stepping off the ferry from Dar es Salaam you walk straight into World Heritage-listed Stone Town. Wander through aromatic spice bazaars, sombre slave markets and ornate doorways; there is always something fascinating just around the corner. Then there are the unspoilt white beaches that seem to go on forever. Sitting back with a cocktail in hand, watching the sailing dhows go by is the perfect way to end a day in Zanzibar.

Zanzibar pizza anyone?
Never eat European food outside of Europe I have learnt. However, the markets of Stone Town in Zanzibar have their own take on traditional Italian food. I won't say too much more than the fact that it will cost you $US1, the ingredients are fresh, it's guaranteed to be the most delicious meal you will have in Africa. Oh and by the way, the beaches up north are among the best in the world - don't miss them.
