Itinerary

Arrive in Broome, a coastal enclave famous for its exquisite beaches, idyllic climate and laidback approach to life. Perhaps consider arriving a day or so earlier to lap up the town's delights, as our trip doesn't spend much time here. Bid goodbye to this seaside town as we head off into Australia's famous Outback. Join a local Bunuba Indigenous Guide and walk out through Tunnel Creek, learning about culture and Aboriginal traditions along the way.
Stop by Windjana Gorge to spy some of the freshwater crocodiles that inhabit the waterways of this national park. Then hit the famous Gibb River Road and head into the heart of the Kimberley.
Spend some time lolling about in the crisp and clear waters of Manning Gorge and clambering along its rocky shelves. Head back to the Gibb River Road and travel on to our camping ground at El Questro Station.
Explore the unspoilt frontier country of El Questro Wilderness Reserve. Spanning a million acres of jaw-dropping gorges and sprawling plateaux, this is a true jewel of the Kimberley region. Embark on a short hike up through the Cockburn Ranges, then cool off with a shower under the waterfall at Emma Gorge. Enjoy another night at the El Questro campsite, perhaps tucking into a beer or two at the Swinging Arm Bar.
Set off by 4x4 into the rugged Bungle Bungle Ranges. Walk through Echidna Chasm, check out Cathedral Gorge and be awed by the rich ochre reds of the rock walls. For a truly unforgettable experience, why not splash out on a scenic flight across this staggeringly beautiful region.
Prepare for some exhilarating 4WD action out of the Bungle Bungles on the road to Kununurra. Perhaps stop in for a visit at the Hidden Valley before setting up camp at Lake Argyle.
Cruise along the vast expanse of Lake Argyle - the biggest man-made lake on the Australian continent. Cross the state border into the Northern Territory and enjoy a night camped under the stars in the Victoria River region.
Journey on to Katherine Gorge – perhaps stopping off for a swim in the waters of Katherine Gorge or Edith Falls – before arriving in Darwin. A tropical mix of culture, character and natural beauty, Australia's northernmost gateway is the perfect finishing point to this incredible adventure across the Kimberley and Top End.
