Leaving Perth enter Nambung National Park to explore the Pinnacles Desert - a unique landscape unlike any other in the country. Afterwards journey to the massive sand dunes of Jurien Bay, where you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy sandboarding down the slopes. From here, continue on through Geraldton to Horrocks where you'll stay overnight. (LD)
Take the short drive today to Kalbarri National Park where you'll explore some of the park’s diverse scenery, including Murchison Gorge, Nature's Window, the Loop and Z-Bend Gorge (a steep descent but worth the effort for a refreshing swim). There is also the option to abseil for those looking for even more adventure (own expense). After lunch, visit the beautiful Shell Beach - one of only two beaches in the world made entirely from shells, before getting back on the road towards Denham and Shark Bay. (BLD)
After a short drive across the Peron Peninsula make your way down to the beach and pay a visit to the world famous Monkey Mia dolphins – sure to become your new best friends. The next stop is Carnarvon where we see the fascinating stromatolites at Hamelin Pool. After a short break continue along the highway to Coral Bay, the ‘Jewel of the Northwest’. (BLD)
Take a day to relax and explore Coral Bay, which is just as relaxing as the name suggests. You’ll also visit the Ningaloo Reef to see the amazing marine life that lives below the waterline. Snorkel in the waters or cruise on a glass bottom boat to observe the sea life from a different perspective. For land lovers, take a quad bike tour or see the reef from a bird's eye view with a joy flights over the reef (at your own expense and subject to availability). In the late afternoon, take a short drive to your exclusive campsite at Yardi Creek in the Cape Range National Park, near Exmouth. (BLD)
Enjoy another day of freedom and relaxation. Go snorkelling or diving, search for whale sharks (seasonal and at own expense) or view Vlamingh Head Lighthouse then choose to laze on the beach at Turquoise Bay and soak up the sunshine. (BLD)
Heading inland through the vast cattle stations of the Pilbara region, our destination is the oasis of Karijini. This afternoon pass through Tom Price, a little town known for its iron ore mining, before reaching your camp overlooking the magnificent Hamersley Range. Two full days of adventure is the perfect amount of time needed to explore Karijini National Park and its amazing gorges. Formed over 2,500 million years ago, the Hamersley Ranges are some of the most unusual landforms on Earth. Deep in the gorges you’ll come across cascading waterfalls and fresh waterholes – perfect for swimming. Dales Gorge, Fortescue Falls, Fern Pool, Circular Pool, Weano Gorge and Hancock Gorge are just some of the stunning areas you can explore. (BLD)
Depart Karijini this morning and travel towards the coast and the iron ore port of Port Hedland. You'll have time for a quick town tour and to learn more about the sheer size of the iron ore industry. After lunch continue on towards your overnight station stay. (BLD)
En route to Broome enjoy a leisurely break and take in the glory of the stretching sands of the 80 Mile Beach. Take a stroll along the beach and get some fantastic photos, before your final leg into Broome. (BL)
Be prepared to get swept away by Broome’s chilled out vibe. Enjoy a day at your own leisure to relax on Cable Beach or explore the town, one of Australia’s most beautiful holiday destinations. With 22 kilometres of white sand and crystal waters, there's plenty to see and do in Broome. You can also organise a tour out to one of the local pearl farms. The next three days are yours to explore and enjoy the fantastic weather. Note: Today's meals will come at your own expense.
Check out of your accommodation refreshed, and catch the transfer from reception to the airport before your flight. Arrive back at Perth airport early afternoon, where your journey ends.
