Booking your flights with us

When you book the flights for your trip through us, you can rest assured that you’ve made the right call. Here are just a few reasons why:

  • We do all the legwork. Our trained Adventure Specialists not only know how to find the best available fares, but will also check connection times for you on any indirect flights to make sure they’re suitable. What’s more, for those extra tricky routings to out of the way places we have a specialist Flights team who are able to source fares for even the most complex of routes. Whoever finds them for you, we’ll make sure you always get the best deal for your flights.

  • We fly from anywhere. Often the greatest choice is available from the major London airports, but depending on where you live we may be able to find you a great deal on a flight from a regional airport near you, anywhere in the UK or Europe, so please let us know where you would like your adventure to start!

  • You’ll always have enough hold luggage. More and more airlines are introducing hand-luggage only fares, making flight booking a bit of a minefield as these fares aren’t always easy to spot. That’s why we guarantee our fares will always include enough hold luggage for your trip. For details of suggested weight limits on each of our trips, please see the Essential Trip Information.

  • If your flight times change, we’ll sort it. Airline schedules change routinely throughout the year, and a change to your flight times could mean your flight no longer gets you to your destination in time to join your trip, or that your indirect flights no longer connect. Either way, we’ll take care of it for you and make sure you’re rebooked onto the most suitable flights available.

  • If you need to change your flights, we’ll help. With independently booked flights it can be tricky at best to change anything you need to if your circumstances change before you travel. We have direct contacts at each of the major airlines who are often very helpful in assisting with any changes that need to be made. We’re not promising anything of course, but we’ll do the work for you and we generally get a good result.

  • You won’t have to pay for your flights until your trip balance is due (probably!). The majority of fares we use are at our contract rates and need only be paid for at the time your trip balance is due. This means you’ll be able to confirm your whole trip package for just the standard trip deposit (usually £150 per person).

  • If you do need to pay when you book, you’ll know you’re getting an even better deal! We receive many great special offers that can make your adventure even better value for money. These special fares require full payment at time of booking though and will be immediately non-refundable, so please be aware of this when taking advantage of these great special offers.

  • We get great rates on upgrades too. If you’re thinking of upgrading to Premium Economy or Business Class, please let us know. We frequently receive special rates on these upgrades which could help you start and finish your adventure in style!

  • We’ll take care of you from leaving your departure airport until you return there. If you book your airport transfers with us as well as flights, you’ll have a fully ABTA recognised package holiday. Not only does this mean you can relax and let us take care of everything, but it also provides you with extra cover should anything go wrong. In the case of any emergency situations we’ll liaise with the airlines and make any necessary changes to make sure you get to your trip as early as possible or, if the situation requires, simply get you home safely. In either instance we will cover the extra flight costs incurred.

Finally, a very important note for booking flights with us:

It is your responsibility to ensure that you provide us with the correct dates of birth and names exactly as per passport, for your travelling party at the time of requesting your flight quote. Any changes will invalidate an existing quote with the airline and could result in the price of your flights going up. Once we’ve confirmed your flights with the airline any changes could cost significantly more as each airline imposes its own fees in addition. You get the idea: it’s best not to have to make changes!

Booking your own flights

Of course, you don’t have to book your flights through us. If you choose to book your own flights, all we ask is that you make sure you’ll arrive in time for your group welcome meeting (details will be in the itinerary of your chosen tour).

We recommend that you don’t book non-changeable or non-refundable tickets when booking your own flights. If you’re looking to travel next calendar year, this part is essential as our trip dates and itineraries are subject to change and could leave you with flights that don’t match your trip.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make meal and seat requests?

We will always pass on seat and meal requests to airlines; please highlight these requests at the time of booking. Note that requests are subject to confirmation from the airline, on some short haul flights meal options may be limited and not all airlines offer the facility to pre-book seats.

When should I book?

We recommend you book as early as possible, especially if you’re looking to travel during any of the school holidays. Flights generally go on sale 11 months in advance and tend to start selling the cheaper fares first, so the closer to this timeframe you can book, the better.

Can I buy cheaper tickets elsewhere?

Occasionally yes. However, as a general rule of thumb, the cheaper the airline ticket, the more restrictions are imposed. Discounted tickets are often non-refundable and non-changeable. International airlines can, and do, change schedules, which may leave you with airline tickets no longer matching the tour. We cannot accept liability for the loss of your regional or international ticket if you decide to book these.

Can I upgrade my flights?

All our standard fares are in economy class. We have negotiated competitive upgrade fares with a number of our airline partners. Please ask us for a quote.

Are my flights protected?

All our package holidays are ATOL Protected by the Civil Aviation Authority for UK residents. This means in the unlikely event of insolvency the CAA will ensure that you are not stranded abroad and will arrange to refund any money you have paid to us for an advance booking. The price of your holiday includes a £2.50 charge per person which goes to the ATOL Protection Contribution (APC) fund. If you book your own flights check they are ATOL protected.
