Moving around Los Angeles is relatively easy, but it does take a bit of planning. Driving is generally the most convenient way to get around. That said, LA is renowned for heavy traffic during peak periods, so be sure to plan ahead.
Walking or cycling is a good option in popular areas like Venice, Santa Monica, Hollywood and the Sunset Strip. However, many of the city's iconic attractions aren't within walking distance of each other so you may want to hire a car or use ride-share for ease.
Public transport is another (affordable) option with LA's extensive Metro bus network. You can download the Metro app to see routes and timetables.
Walking around Los Angeles
Los Angeles isn't as walkable as other cities in the United States as the city is very spread out and many tourist attractions are quite far apart.
You can totally walk around popular and residential areas like Hollywood and Santa Monica, but to travel between them it's best to jump on a Metro bus or use rideshare.
Ensure you wear sunscreen when you're out and about in Los Angeles, as the UV rays can be quite high, even in winter.

Driving is the most popular way to travel around Los Angeles. While traffic can get quite congested, it's often the quickest way to get from A to B.
There are several rental car companies located at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Alternatively, ride-sharing options such as Uber or Lyft are convenient and cost-effective.
