Days 4-5 Arequipa

Nestled on the flank of the imposing El Misti volcano, Arequipa is one of Peru's most charming cities. And with much of the city's architecture fashioned from a pale volcanic stone called sillar, there are no prizes for guessing how it came to be know as the 'White City'. Overflowing with colonial churches, mansions and monasteries, it's an exceptionally pleasant place to explore by foot.

Days 6-7 Chivay/Colca Canyon

Enjoy expansive views – and possibly an Andean condor sighting – at Colca Canyon. Twice as deep as the Grand Canyon, the views are utterly remarkable. Many of the Incan and pre-Incan terraces that were carved into the walls are still cultivated, and traditional indigenous villages are also visible.
