The tropical climate of Central America means conditions can be really hot and humid. Always carry plenty of water with you and stay hydrated, especially on walking tours.
Try to learn as many Spanish words as you can. Locals are very friendly, but also shy, so you'll need to make plenty of effort to break the ice. Attempting to communicate in Spanish is a great way of showing you care.

This is a fantastic trip, with Guatemala being the highlight. Do spend 2-3 days in Antigua before the tour start, hike the Pacaya volcano and see the beautiful city. Our group and tour leader was excellent, highly recommend this trip.

This trip included seeing severals different areas of each country, ranging from city to jungle to beach which was great. We had a really good tour guide that suggested places to eat, things to do, etc. Accommodations were nice and having transportation all set up was very helpful. Loved the Tikal National Park tour, swimming with sharks in Belize and the cenotes in Mexico. A lot of time spent of buses, but was worth it to see the different areas, and frequent stops were made to get food and go to the bathroom. Prepare to be active, but several opportunities to relax if you choose to opt out of some activities. I really enjoyed the trip overall and would suggest it to others.
