Why you'll love this trip
  • Laze on the sandy shores of Caye Caulker, off the coast of Belize. Swim in the warm waters of the Caribbean and snorkel through shallow reefs and atolls surrounding the cayes.
  • Join a group of local women at a co-operative in San Ignacio where they’ll show you how to cook up some traditional recipes and talk about the organisation they founded.
  • Discover the remains of a once thriving Mayan city at the Lamanai archaeological site, reached by a boat trip that reveals some of Belize’s most colourful birdlife.
  • Go wildlife watching in the Crooked Tree Sanctuary, keeping an eye out for the Jabiru storks – the tallest flying bird in Central and South America.
  • Uncover the secrets of crystallised skeletons and crumbling palaces near San Ignacio that have been preserved in their natural glory.

Is this trip right for you?
  • Is it hot in here? Well, you’re in tropical Central America so it can get really hot and humid. Carry plenty of water because hydration is key, especially when you’re walking a lot.

My trip to Belize with Intrepid Travel was a trip to remember. The guides were terrific and the sites we saw were quite incredible. The variety of experiences were great. I would definitely do this trip again with Intrepid.

The Land of Belize trip was a quick introduction to this fantastic country. We saw and experienced so many different and fun things in the 7 days. Our tour leader Walter was delightful, very informative and interesting.

Walter was the best tour guide! He knew so much about Latin American history and made us all comfortable from the jump. Tikal and the cooking class were favorites for me! You won’t regret this trip!

Had a great time in Belize. I did the ATM cave, there's probably nothing else like iit in the world-- feet and legs got banged up, but would still do it again. We went to Tikal, Guatemala and it was amazing how much of the ruins was still around today. Lastly, we went snorkeling at the Hol Chan Marine Preserve-- according to the others in my group, they saw more there than anywhere else including the Great Barrier Reef. Tip-Bring a rash guard
