What are the visa requirements for Samoa?

There are no visa requirements for Samoa if you're visiting solely for tourism or recreation purposes, however, all travellers aged 12 and over will need to pay a departure tax of ST $40. Nationals from one of the 26 European countries in the Schengen area can enter Samoa visa-free for up to 90 days, while all other foreign nationals can stay for up to 60 days. You will be issued a free visitor permit by an Immigration officer when you arrive at Faleolo International Airport (APW).

If you intend on staying in Samoa for longer than 90 or 60 days, you can apply for an extended permit before your trip through a registered visa agent, or do it yourself at one of the Samoan overseas consular posts or diplomatic missions, including those in New York, Canberra and Auckland. An easier option is to extend your visitor permit in Samoa by completing a simple application form at the Immigration Office in Apia. Just make sure you do it at least a week before your initial permit expires.

Entry requirements can change at any time, so it's best to check for the latest information before you set off. If you have any questions or concerns about Samoan visa or entry requirements, get in touch with your nearest embassy or high commission.
