Why choose Intrepid

family icon

Just for families

The clue’s in the title. These Cycling trips are for families only (including any aunts, uncles or cousins who’d like to come along, of course). As long as you’re travelling with a child between the age of 10 and 18, you’re a family in our eyes. Plus, unlike other travel companies, children aged 17 years and younger receive a 10% discount off the price of their trip.

high five icon

Travel with other families

Family Cycling trips are made up of 3–5 like-minded families, and the kids tend to hit it off straight away, allowing you to enjoy some well-earned R&R after a day on the bike. We often find the whole family ends up making friends with people from all over the world, staying in touch long after the adventure ends.

small groups icon

Small groups

Intrepid’s group sizes are small enough to avoid the crowds and reach some out-of-the-way places without overwhelming the locals. Our maximum group size of 16 is the perfect number to feel the camaraderie of riding in a group, without getting lost in the crowd.

Action packed itineraries

We know the biggest challenge on a family trip is keeping the kids entertained. So, we’ve planned a good mix of cycling time as well as opportunities to experience the local culture of a destination – and sometimes just a chance to kick back and relax by the hotel pool!

safety icon

Safety first

Our leaders are specially trained to run Family Cycling adventures, so you’re well taken care of. A support vehicle will be with you, so you can take a break from riding whenever you feel like it. We also run risk assessments on all of our Family Cycling trips, and your leaders will have experience with the itinerary in advance.

Responsible travel icon

Sustainable travel

We strive to use travel as a force for good. That’s why we choose to give back to the communities we visit, carbon offset all our trips and take our social and environmental responsibilities seriously. We’ve been officially certified as the world’s largest travel B Corp, which means when you choose Intrepid Travel, you can rest assured you’re travelling to improve the planet.

Highlights

Morocco's Cave of Hercules

Visit the Caves of Hercules

If your kids like hearing ancient stories, riding to the Grottes d'Hercules or Caves of Hercules will be a perfect activity! Legend says that Hercules stayed in this cave before doing his eleventh labour – collecting the golden apples from the Hesperides Garden. Over the years, the caves have been used in many ways, including as a concert venue.

Nha Trang beach

Go snorkelling in Nha Trang

Take the opportunity to swap your bike for a boat and head out to explore the waters of Nha Trang. The kids can pass the day swimming and snorkelling in the turquoise waters, while parents can kick back on the deck or float around in the water with the kids. A fresh seafood buffet will be provided for lunch, so you’ll be able to refuel from all the riding of the past few days.

Chefchaouen

Rest your legs in the blue city, Chefchaouen

Ease into the relaxed pace of life in this rural retreat, perhaps booking in a family hammam treatment (traditional Moroccan spa) to help recover your riding muscles!
