Whether bathed in 22 hours of sunlight or hidden under a shroud of darkness, Reykjavik always shines with life, creativity, beauty and warmth of character. Arrival at Keflavik International Airport. Pick up and transfer to your hotel in Reykjavik.
We start today with a short city tour of Reykjavik before heading of to see Geysers and waterfalls.
Today we stop to visit the waterfall Skogafoss and Solheimajokull glacier where we will walk up to the glacier tounge to view the incredible colours and close enough to touch.
Our trip continues towards the oasis at Skaftafell national park close to Vatnajokull, Europe's biggest glacier. At Skaftafell we will have a 2 hours glacial walk tour. Then we continue over black sands to the rocks of Reynisfjara and Dyrholaey before driving to Reykjavik for our overnight accommodation.
This morning is free to relax and unwind or if you are feeling like more activity you can book onto an optional Superjeep tour.
Reykjavik has a great feel to the city, with many art museums, quirky cafes and sculptures to see. Today is a free day to explore this city. Looking for something to do? Take a ride on an Icelandic Horse, view Killer Whales just off the shore on an whale watching trip or explore one of many art galleries. Or visit the famous Blue Lagoon. Take a dip in the warm geothermal seawater and soak up the scenery in the all natural bathing lagoon.
We drive to the Reykjanes peninsula where the mid Atlantic ridge rises from the ocean. More than half of the peninsula is covered with lava flows, some of which are only a few hundred years old. We will visit boiling mud pool´s and hot springs before driving to the Blue Lagoon for a relaxing bath before driving to Keflavik airport for your departure flight.
